Control Panel Upgrade for a Failing Smoke Ventilation System in Glasgow

The brief

The smoke ventilation control panel on this Glasgow site had suffered an inverter failure, and the original drives were obsolete so a like-for-like swap was not possible. Left as it was, the ventilation system could not run reliably.

What we did

• Surveyed the existing panel and confirmed the failed inverters were no longer available
• Specified modern replacement inverters and adapted the panel to suit
• Upgraded the control panel, re-terminated the drives and tested the system end to end

The result

The ventilation system is back up and running on current, supportable drives, with the panel upgraded so future spares are readily available. The client has a compliant system they can rely on again.
