ATS Changeover and Twin Extract Fan Replacement in Birmingham

The brief

On a routine service of this Birmingham smoke ventilation system we found one of the two extract fan motors had failed and the other was not far behind. The automatic transfer switch (ATS) feeding the control panel also needed replacing. We had recorded the deterioration on the previous service, so the client could plan the work.

What we did

• Flagged the failing motors and ATS on the previous service report so the work could be planned
• Replaced the ATS switch supplying the control panel
• Changed out both extract fans and tested the system through

The result

The system is back to full working order on new fans and a new changeover switch, with the issues caught early through servicing rather than after a total failure.
